Tobias Schilling, MD, MBA worked as a physician in the Department of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation, and Vascular Surgery of Hannover Medical School, which provided deep insights into organizing lean and effective processes in an extremely demanding health care environment. After his assignment as a surgeon, he consulted clinics on hospital management topics.
Dr. Schilling ran multiple scientific projects in the fields of clinic management, research management, and tissue engineering.
Dr. Schilling founded a startup company for internet marketing and consulting in 1998 that he ran until 2023. He gained vast experience from a plethora of successful and non-successful strategic, operational, academic, and scientific projects focussing on healthcare.
Dr. Schilling extended his empiric business knowledge with studies on business administration in the University of Applied Sciences, Neu-Ulm, Germany, which he concluded with a master thesis entitled “Evaluation of management and leadership in research organizations” in 2016.
Dr. Schilling chairs the department for business development of the Hospitals of the Region of Hannover (KRH) since 2021 where he is responsible for the development and execution of the medical strategy.
